Folders are not simply personal work spaces for users to organize and preserve their work, but also the key to sharing and collaboration because the folder provides a basis for sharing work with other users. Shared folders thus become "collaborative folders" (as compared to "personal folders").

Under CKS, the user who created a folder has fine grained control over its sharing, access rights and usage. He can define the users or groups who have read or write access to the folder, and the type of moderation to apply.

CKS thereby drives collaborative communities, creation and exchange of knowledge, while ensuring the heightened security required for operation in an enterprise environment.

Deliver

To provide maximum productivity, CKS also includes notification and delivery functions.

An alert system notifies a user when a saved search finds new documents, when a folder for which he is a participant has changed, or when another user from his community sends him a request.

Additionally, each user is free to adapt CKS to his needs and his style of working by choosing the types of events for which he receives notifications, the frequency of alerts and the way they are delivered: by e-mail, RSS feed, etc.
